Repository Engineering Skills

Keep code review and refactoring aligned with a repository’s existing boundaries.

The author’s current public package pairs repo-foundation with repo-native-refactor. It establishes project conventions and contracts, then guides scoped changes using repository-native patterns.

Use cases

  • Establish repository rules for a session
  • Review changes against existing contracts
  • Refactor a bounded code area

How to use

Load the foundation before changing the repository and provide the refactoring goal. Keep acceptance evidence and scope visible; archived evaluation copies are not part of the package.

Skills

Add features, start modules, migrate contracts, or pick up half-finished work without breaking the public API. Use for "add X to this project", "set up a new module", "change this schema", "migrate the database", "continue where we left off", "fix this bug", "split this module".

Review a diff or PR without editing it, or tidy a change set without changing behavior. Use for "review my changes", "check this diff for contract breaks", "clean this up before I open a PR", "is this safe", "merge the duplicates".
